He is a BUPA Health Care Service Provider and carries public indemnity insurance. Can I stop smoking?Yes! With a desire and definiteness of purpose you are completely capable of giving up the habit of smoking in one session. Hypnosis has been shown to be the most successful method of smoking cessation. Hypnotherapy is effective in any conditions involving emotional or psychological factors or where behaviour patterns require change. Advanced forms of hypnotherapy go beyond the use of pure suggestion and will use various techniques including NLP. Profound inner changes can be achieved with lasting results. The time to stop is now!You already have a sound knowledge of the consequences and risks involved with smoking. This will be based on your experience or your observation of others. Perhaps indecision or procrastination may previously have prevented you becoming a non-smoker. Your inability to quit or lack of persistence has depended entirely, at some level on your intensity of desire. Skilled hypnosis can help you deal with these areas. Desire is the starting point of all achievement. Now is the time to build a strong fire under your desires. Do it now while you still have the opportunity. How many sessions will I need?Provided that you are committed to quitting the habit for yourself then one session of 1½ - 2 hours is all that is normally required. The therapy itself will consist of a chat and both cognitive and hypnotherapeutic procedures. You will be enabled to make all the necessary change that you need in order to become a non-smoker. Can I rid myself of this smoking addiction?I prefer to think of smoking as a habit. It is very much a function of the subconscious mind, feelings, emotions, body chemistry, external experiences and actions providing some of the "triggers". Smoking may well seem to be an addiction because the sub-conscious process is inextricably involved. It is often an action generated from within yourself yet appearing to be beyond your control. Tell me more about the sub-conscious.Your sub-conscious mind is an integral part of you. It basically runs the show, performing perhaps a million functions in a millionth of a second. It regulates temperature, heart rate, respiration, secretes chemicals, enzymes, hormones, co-ordinates all movement, the healing process it operates every second of the day, asleep or awake. It is the seat of all your experiences, your emotional and psychological problems, stresses, fears, anxieties, self-esteem, behaviour patterns and habit centres. It makes complete and total sense to involve your sub-conscious mind in any positive, beneficial and ongoing change. The good news is that your sub-conscious mind is ready, willing and completely able to make positive and beneficial changes in your behaviours, habits and life-style patterns. It simply needs the opportunity. Why doesn't the subconscious mind make these obvious, beneficial and positive changes anyway? I know the harmful effects of smoking. The function of your sub-conscious mind is always positive. At some time smoking for you was completely appropriate. Perhaps it provided acceptance status in a peer group, perhaps everyone in your environment smoked. It was completely appropriate at some time in your life and to your other than conscious mind it still is appropriate. It still satisfies a positive function. Consciously you realise that smoking may begin with bad breath and perhaps end in premature death. At a sub-conscious level positive functions (however inappropriate now) are still being satisfied. Why not use substitutes - nicotine patches / gums or "wonder drugs" to stop smoking?Nicotine substitutes address only the chemical effects of smoking. They do not address the psychological effects. Prolonged use of these products may additionally result in unpleasant side effects. Ask yourself what happens when you stop administering the substitutes? Well you tend to relapse because you have not made any real subconscious change. Anti smoking drugs are often anti-depressants by any other name. It isn't that easy to stop your nicotine cravings. Notice the many people on anti-depressant drugs who smoke. Stop smoking now in one session. The "New Scientist" in 1992 demonstrated that suggestion hypnosis alone had a greater success rate than anything else in the market in enabling smoking cessation. Using a variety of advanced techniques within hypnosis this success rate can be improved upon greatly and it is usual that smoking cessation will occur in one session, without side effects. It is extremely rare for smoking to start with some form of trauma. It is merely a mental habit creating a mental addiction. Only an extreme minority will fail to give up in one session. Should this occur a return visit could be arranged. Making an appointment.Consultations are by appointment only.
