This Stress Control CD has been developed from the highly successful Stress Management programme run for a number of years by David Reeves, a full time Stress Consultant, at his UK practices in Harley Street, London and Swindon.

Aims

The aims of this Stress Management programme are to enable you to recognise and identify the signs and effects that excessive stress can have upon your mind and body.

  • To enable you to learn to manage the negative effects of stress
  • To enable you to cope with stressful situations that may arise in your life
  • To give you an understanding of what stress is
  • To help you to put yourself back in control

The Programme

We recognise that when suffering from stress the last thing that you want to do is to have to read a long winded book on stress, or to wade through endless pages of text and quirky graphics on your computer, leaving you none the wiser, and at times even more stressed than you were to start with.

With this in mind, the Stress Buster programme has been developed to give you quick and easy access, in a user friendly way, to information on stress and how to deal with it.

On the CD you will find:

  • An easy to use menu that won’t take you down endless further links.
  • Simple, easy to follow instructions on how to use the programme.
  • An interactive stress test, enabling you to monitor your stress levels.
  • Two audio programmes, in which David uses relaxation techniques to enable you to become relaxed and calm. These programmes are used extensively and successfully in his practices with individual clients. At no time will you lose awareness of what is going on around you, nor will anyone be able to control you. In fact, when you use the programmes as directed, you should feel more in control of yourself and your stress levels.
  • Programme one is designed to help alleviate the negative effects of stress on mind and body. Programme two is designed as a deep relaxation programme. It is also instructional in self-hypnosis (The 'Calm' Technique). Both programmes contain subliminal messages for your wellbeing and are approx. 28 minutes long.
  • Easy to understand information on stress and its effects on the mind and body.
  • Information on how to manage stress and how to stop stress from managing you.
  • You will receive a Stress card to keep in your pocket. The Stress card is a bio-feedback device. On it is a liquid crystal that changes colour depending on how stressed or calm you are.

Stress

The last thing that most people who are suffering from excessive stress will admit to is the fact that they are suffering from the effects of stress, or that they cannot handle that stress. They tend to view it as some sort of weakness to even admit to having excessive stress in their lives. It can seem like a weakness to admit to family and work colleagues that they are under too much pressure. They can be afraid that their boss will see it as a sign of weakness, and / or a sign that they cannot do their job properly. This puts extra worry and stress on the nervous system, making an already poor situation appear to be even more intolerable.

Stress can come in many guises. It can be caused by many different things. Stress will manifest itself in a myriad of ways, but remember, we all need an amount of stress in our lives, to be able to survive, to be able to do our jobs, and to give us the will and the energy to cope with emergencies. Stress is not only helpful and necessary, it can often be a positive force in your life. When you have a better understanding of stress and its negative effects on you, you will actually find that you can learn to control the negative psychological and physical effects that it has upon you. This control over yourself will enable you to use stress to work for you, not against you.

Stress can and does affect men and women from all walks of life, young and old, rich and poor, no matter what your job, or even if you have no job. Stress and its effects have no respect for your status or position, or lack of it, in life.

Remember, you are not the only one suffering from stress. It is not a sign of weakness to ask for or to seek professional help. This stress programme is designed to help you to practice safe stress.
